NASCAR Race in Mexico City
Mexico City hosted its inaugural NASCAR Cup Series race, the Viva México 250, at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez on june 20. Shane van Gisbergen of Trackhouse Racing secured the victory in a rain-affected race, making history as the first points-paying Cup Series race held outside the United States since 1958.
Local favorite Daniel Suárez participated in the race, finishing 19th, while also clinching a win in the Xfinity Series race earlier in the weekend.
